Wedding Gown

from Hurricane Weather by The Fur Trade

/

lyrics

She walks through the forest and down to the river. The river's miles wide. It's been so many years that she's piled under and piled over by time. Close to the pain she'll never touch, a wildflower on a rock; she rises from the quiet ground like the pale, white moonlight through the forest; through her wedding gown.

She'll watch it rise.

She's a butterfly; a gentle curve in a big, hard world of lines. She can't change herself and fly away; spread her wings, she's still the same, failing all the secret rites. Who can spread their wings, lose themselves, just let go and rise?
